- Cardiac Surgeon Opportunity: Advance Heart Care with Robotic Innovation in Vibrant Shreveport

Shreveport is an emerging gem in Louisiana, boasting world-class cuisine, abundant outdoor adventures along the Red River, and a welcoming community—truly an exceptional place to raise a family. Due to a valued colleague's upcoming retirement, we are excited to recruit a Board Certified/Board Eligible Cardiac Surgeon to join our dynamic, heart-centered practice. Once surgeons come here they do not leave - 30 years, 16 years, 13 years and 10 years. This role features a balanced 1-in-4 call schedule, with primary focus on adult cardiac surgery. You'll have the chance to expand our capabilities in robotic lung and robotic-assisted open heart procedures, building on our established foundation. Esophageal surgery is not currently part of the practice.
Our practice is integrated into Northern Louisiana's largest healthcare system, soon surpassing 1,000 beds, offering unmatched stability and efficiency across the hospital, operating rooms, and office. We provide dedicated access to five state-of-the-art operating rooms and an on-site line director deeply committed to expanding our cardiovascular services. Collaboration thrives here: partner with interventional cardiologists through weekly journal clubs and High risk case conferences. Willis Knighton General surgery residents rotate through our service for enriched educational experiences. Our robust structural heart program delivers cutting-edge outcomes, complemented by an elite ECMO/shock program where cannulation and management are expertly handled by Critical Care specialists. On-site NPs/PAs support rounding, clinic duties, and OR assistance, ensuring a seamless workflow.

Key Responsibilities and Opportunities:
Lead and perform high-volume cardiac surgeries, including CABG, valve procedures, and structural heart interventions.
Growth in robotic lung and open heart surgeries with institutional backing.
Engage in multidisciplinary rounds, conferences, and resident teaching, if interested.
Maintain a collaborative 1-in-4 call with robust support.
Requirements:
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
Fellowship training in cardiac surgery.
Enthusiasm for innovation, teamwork, and patient-centered care.
Louisiana medical license (or eligibility to obtain).
Junior-level candidates (recent graduates) encouraged to apply.
