St. Peter’s Health Partners Medical Associates is seeking a fellowship-trained, board-certified Anesthesiologist for a full-time Chief of Anesthesiology position at Samaritan Hospital. This hospital-employed leadership role oversees the anesthesia department, clinical operations, staffing, and quality initiatives at Samaritan Hospital in Troy, NY.
Position Highlights:
Lead a collaborative team of anesthesiologists and CRNAs
Oversee anesthesia services across OR, OB, and endoscopy.
Drive quality improvement, innovation, and patient safety
Partner with surgical, nursing, and administrative leadership
Develop protocols and mentor clinical staff
Requirements:
Board-certified Anesthesiologist with fellowship training
Proven leadership experience managing anesthesia teams
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Experience in clinical operations, quality improvement, and strategic planning
Eligible for NYS medical license and DEA
Compensation Structure:
Base Salary – Two Tracks Based on Call Requirements and Leadership Stipend :
Track 1 - $575,217 and $91,520 leadership stipend
Onsite shifts – 44 hours/week, 44 weeks – 1,936 hours per year
First call shifts per year:
1 in 8 weekday shifts - 12 hours each
1 in 8 weekend day shifts - 24 hours each
1 in 6 holidays - 12 hours each
Track 2 - $600,000 and $91,520 leadership stipend
Onsite shifts – 44 hours/week, 44 weeks – 1,936 hours per year
First call shifts per year:
1 in 5 weekday shifts - 12 hours each
1 in 5 weekend day shifts - 24 hours each
1 in 6 holidays - 12 hours each
Additional Compensation:
Starting & Retention Bonus: $100,000 (with 2-year claw back)
Chief Stipend: $91,520 annually for 416 hours of administrative leadership
Excess call and onsite shift compensation
OB call compensation
Quality incentive compensation (starting at 3rd anniversary)
