Description
Opening in the SF Bay area for full time CNIM with 2+ years experience. Position includes performing neurophysiologic monitoring in the operating room to assist in assessing the functional integrity of the peripheral and central nervous system during vascular, orthopedic, and neurosurgical procedures. Monitor the intraoperative recording to make recommendations to the surgeon and conduct the appropriate electrophysiologic testing. Advise the anesthesiologist on anesthesia impacts to neurophysiologic monitoring. Postoperatively, submit final intraoperative report to the attending surgeon and company's medical office. Conduct the following core intraoperative monitoring procedures: Motor cranial nerve assessment using evoked and passive electromyography ("EMG") techniques; assessment of spinal cord sensory and motor function using somatosensory evoked potentials ("SSEP") and transcranial motor evoked potentials; motor strip mapping of cortical surface using eletrical stimulation and EMG techniques; assessment of electroencephalographic ("EEG") burst suppression activity with sensory evoked potential measures to provide cerebral protection via titration of anesthetic agents; neuromonitoring of spinal root and cord function for proper pedicle screw placement in neuromonitoring of spinal fusion and instrumentation surgeries; and transcranial electrical stimulation of motor cortex for monitoring spinal cord motor function in orthopedic and neurosurgical cases.
