Dignity Health Medical Group (DHMG) is seeking a Sports Medicine Surgeon/Physician to join its expanding Orthopedic Department. Our Orthopedic team is made up of multiple physicians and advanced practitioners with sub-specialties in Trauma, Sports - Surgical, Non-operative Sports, Adult Reconstruction, Hand, and Foot and Ankle. In addition, we have a robust Athletic Trainer team that supports multiple schools. Our team’s focus is driven around being leaders in education, centered on evidence based medicine while ensuring consistent collaboration and communication within the team and the community and patients we serve. The DHMG Orthopedic Department works in partnership with multiple school districts and colleges across the Phoenix market to provide medical coverage and athletic trainer support. The Orthopedic Department is growing quickly, and we are looking for a highly motivated physician to join the team!
Job Summary and Responsibilities
Based out of clinics in Central, West and East Valley Phoenix.
Monday-Friday. Minimum of two clinic days per week.
High School football game coverage required.
Grand Canyon University club sports coverage.
Grand Canyon University Division 1 coverage.
Job Requirements
MD/DO
Fellowship Training and American Board Certification in Sports Medicine
Must have or be eligible for Arizona state medical license
Acceptable completion of an ACGME accredited residency program with current ABMS board certification
3-5 years of experience working with team sports; Division I collegiate experience highly desirable
Ability to achieve full and unrestricted hospital privileges at Dignity Health Arizona hospitals
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Ability to make quick, informed decisions in high-pressure situations

The Grand Canyon University Athletics Department is dedicated to using intercollegiate sports as a platform in developing good Christian role models and in embodying the highest standards of excellence in the overall development of its student athletes. After beginning a transition from NCAA Division II in 2013, GCU has been a full postseason-eligible D-I member since the 2017-18 school year and has won 70 D-I conference championships, appeared in NCAA Championships in 17 of its 21 sports, won NCAA postseason games in multiple sports and won six of the seven Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Commissioner’s Cups for the conference’s top-performing athletics program.
