WHO SHOULD APPLY?
The Department of Diagnostic Radiology within the School of Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences at Queen's University and its affiliated teaching hospitals are seeking two (2) full-time Academic Radiologists with Fellowship training in Emergency Radiology. These positions are to fill new positions within the University to support a new program.
This recruitment supports expansion into dedicated evening Radiologist shift coverage at Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC), representing a major commitment to comprehensive, state-of-the-art radiology support for emergency room patients . The successful candidates will play a central role in shaping and advancing a new high-impact Emergency Radiology program.
This position is predominantly Emergency Radiology focused, with a robust and diverse clinical volume including X-rays, Ultrasound, CT and MRI performed on emergency department patients. There is also a requirement for coverage of urgent after-hours in-patient studies at KHSC. Occasional daytime coverage would include support of cardiothoracic, abdominal imaging, or general radiology divisions based on expertise. The Emergency Radiologists will work in collaboration with members of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Queen’s Health Sciences and KHSC.
As an academic appointment, the successful candidates will be expected to contribute meaningfully to: Undergraduate medical education, Radiology Residency training, and Scholarly research and innovation. The interested candidates should demonstrate potential for impactful academic productivity or an established record of high-quality research output in Emergency Radiology.

EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
The Emergency Department operates clinically at Kingston Health Sciences Centre’s two sites, with an annual combined ED volume approaching 100,000 patient visits. The department provides tertiary emergency care services for the Southeastern Ontario referral region and serves as the only Level 1 trauma centre in Southeastern Ontario.
KINGSTON HEALTH SCIENCES CENTRE OVERVIEW
The Academic Radiologists will join 30+ radiologists in the Department, who provide clinical service to a population of approximately 650,000 in Southeastern Ontario in two teaching hospitals, Kingston Health Sciences Centre and Providence Care. There are a total of 3 CT scanners at both hospital sites, including a recently installed DE Canon Aquilion ONE CT with full Cardiac imaging capabilities. There is a 1.5T Siemens MRI scanner and a recently installed state-of-the-art Siemens 3T VIDA MRI scanner. A 1.5T Siemens breast MRI has recently been installed at Breast Imaging Kingston. A PET-CT program began as of March 2025. There is an ultra-low field Portable MRI serving the ICU patients.
In addition, there are three 1.5T Phillips MRI scanners and two new CT scanners in a community MRI practice.

Requirements
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
Qualified applicants will hold an MD degree (or equivalent). Candidates must be eligible for licensure by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. Preference will be given to those who either hold or are eligible for certification in Diagnostic Radiology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Applicants must also possess expertise, training, and experience in Emergency Radiology.
Members of the Department of Diagnostic Radiology enjoy a competitive compensation package, including a generous benefits plan. Compensation is determined in accordance with the Department’s Practice Plan policies for clinical academic faculty. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience.
