The Department of Surgery and the Division of Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgery at the Yale School of Medicine in conjunction with the Yale-New Haven Health System is seeking academically oriented and qualified surgeons to join our faculty and provide services at Yale New Haven and Bridgeport Hospitals in CT.Applications are invited for the position of Assistant or Associate or Professor of Surgery at the Yale School of Medicine and Yale New Haven Health Systems and our offsite Clinics. We are seeking candidates with excellent clinical and interpersonal skills and the commitment to make important contributions to the field of Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgery and developing an academic career specifically in complex hernia repair with opportunity for hospital leadership.
The major criteria for appointment for faculty shall be excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, and scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine and institutional service- appropriate to the programmatic need the individuals are expected to fulfil. The candidates must be board eligible/certified in General Surgery and be fellowship trained in bariatric and/or minimally invasive surgery. Potential candidates will be able to perform complex minimally invasive procedures. Candidates should have an outstanding academic record in research, clinical care and education. The Candidate should have experience administratively, with excellent interpersonal skills for multidisciplinary communication, with exceptional leadership talent. Strong skills in program planning, development and quality assurance, educational and operational issues are essential. A strong history of basic, health services, quality and/or clinical research is desired.
Yale Medicine has a wide referral network of primary and specialty care physicians.We are seeking candidates with an academic orientation in clinical care and/or education.Candidates will have exceptional interpersonal skills and a commitment to make contributions to the field of Minimally Invasive Surgery. In addition to program planning and development, candidates should also have a background in quality assurance, educational and operational issues.
