Adult Neuropsychology Division at UTMB The Adult Neuropsychology Division of the Neurology Department offers assessment and consultation to evaluate emotional and cognitive functioning in patients with known or suspected brain dysfunction. Neuropsychological evaluation yields information to assist in diagnosis, specify cognitive strengths and weaknesses, and monitor changes following neurosurgical procedures or due to brain trauma, multiple sclerosis, cerebrovascular disease, neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's or Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, HIV, as well as other conditions that can affect emotional and cognitive functioning. Referrals are generally made by a neurologist, surgeon or psychiatrist.
