West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery seek Thoracic Surgeons (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor) for our rapidly expanding department across our five-state service area including West Virginia, Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Ohio.

Duties: The successful candidate will join a group of internationally renowned academic thoracic surgeons who are part of the WVU Heart & Vascular Institute and WVU Cancer Institute. Candidates with competency in minimally invasive lung and esophageal surgery should apply. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.

Qualifications: Candidates must have an MD or DO degree (or foreign educational equivalent), and be eligible for state medical license. The successful candidate must have completed a general surgery residency program, as well as a cardiothoracic surgery fellowship program. Successful candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible in thoracic surgery. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
