The Cataract and Primary Eye Care (CPEC) service at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, is seeking a comprehensive ophthalmologist to serve in a hybrid teaching/private practice role. CPEC serves as the hub for both patients and trainees at Wills and offers attending physicians the opportunity to have multiple areas of professional satisfaction: teaching, direct patient care, collegiality, and research, in an academic and physician-driven setting. The Wills Eye Ophthalmology Residency is the oldest in the nation and has consistently been named a top tiered training program in the country. THE OPPORTUNITY:
- Hospital-employed
- Full-time position, M-F, 8-5
- Location (Wills Eye Hospital, 840 Walnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107)
- Surgical volume around 15-30 cases a month
- Expected to participate in anterior segment trauma call (2-4 weeks per year; currently back up call to a fellow but may require a week of primary call annually)
- Looking to grow the research presence of the department.
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
- Surgical Ophthalmologist
- Pennsylvania License, M.D. or D.O.
- Board certification required within 2 years of training
- 3 years of practice, post training, preferred
